Full Job Description Job Description:
Al Andalus Institute of Pittsburgh is seeking a dedicated and passionate 2nd Grade Homeroom Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and personal growth of all students.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects (Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Gym and Art) in accordance with the curriculum. Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and respect for diversity. Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents. Prepare and update curriculum maps to ensure alignment with educational standards and goals. Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student development. Participate in school meetings, professional development, and extracurricular activities as required. Uphold the mission and values of Al Andalus Institute of Pittsburgh.
Requirements:
Must be authorized to work in the United States. Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a related field. Proficiency in English language instruction. Commitment to and experience working with students from diverse communities. Determination to drive student achievement and set high expectations for all students.
