QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or above. Must have a valid South Carolina teacher's certificate in Elementary Education or appropriate Science certification. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students and aligns with the South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Science Standards. Establishes clear objectives for all laboratory and classroom activities and communicates these objectives to students. Develops and implements engaging, inquiry-based science lessons and laboratory experiences that promote scientific thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. Utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, technology, and instructional materials appropriate for elementary science instruction. Differentiates instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students. Maintains a safe, organized, and effective science laboratory environment and ensures proper care, storage, and use of laboratory materials and equipment. Teaches and reinforces appropriate laboratory safety procedures and ensures students follow established safety expectations. Collaborates with classroom teachers to support and enhance science instruction and promote cross-curricular connections. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations. Strives to implement through instruction and action the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Participates in faculty meetings, professional learning, and other school and district activities as assigned. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
TERMS:
190 days. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
