Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Nashville International Academy - Nashville, TN (www.niatn.org) Position Overview NIA is currently seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated 3rd Grade Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to student-centered learning, culturally responsive teaching, and a desire to contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven school culture that educates the whole child. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging, grade-appropriate lesson plans in core subjects (reading, writing, math, science, and social studies) aligned with 3rd grade standards and instructional goals. Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student achievement and well-being. Use a variety of formative and summative assessment methods to monitor student progress and guide instruction. Help students build independence, organizational skills, and responsibility appropriate to the 3rd grade level. Integrate character education, universal values, and global citizenship into daily teaching. Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or related field. Teaching licensure preferred (Elementary Education, K-6 or similar). Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in elementary education preferred; experience with 3rd grade or lower elementary a plus. Commitment to continuous growth and reflective practice.
