An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

Upper Elementary Montessori Certified Teacher The Westwood School is seeking an Upper Elementary Montessori teacher to join our vibrant learning community. While Montessori certification is preferred, we welcome applications from strong candidates who are interested in pursuing certification with our support. At Westwood, we take pride in our close-knit culture that values community, character, and excellence in the education of students from toddlers through high school. The ideal candidate will have a genuine affinity for the 9-12 age group (grades 4-6), finding joy in guiding students as they extend, refine, and take ownership of their learning. Our deeply committed faculty and staff share a passion for the Montessori Method and for fostering the development of the whole child. We are dedicated to supporting each student's academic growth as well as their independence, confidence, and sense of responsibility. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required Upper Elementary Montessori certification preferred
Compensation:
Compensation, including benefits, is competitive and commensurate with experience.
