Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Elementary School Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be devoted to progressive education, embrace the distinctive educational opportunities our farm provides, and have experience or a strong interest in meeting the needs of neurodivergent students.

Responsibilities:

Progressive Curriculum Development:

Design and implement an Elementary School curriculum rooted in progressive education principles, leveraging the farm environment for hands-on, experiential learning. Foster critical thinking, creativity, and a passion for learning through engaging and inquiry-based teaching methods.

Neurodivergent Inclusive Practices:

Implement inclusive teaching strategies to address the diverse needs of neurodivergent elementary aged students.

Outdoor and Nature-Based Learning:

Utilize the farm setting to enhance learning experiences, incorporating outdoor and nature-based activities into daily lessons. Facilitate farm-related projects and experiences to deepen students' understanding of ecological concepts.

Individualized Instruction:

Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles, providing personalized support and challenges to meet the unique needs of each student. Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom culture that celebrates neurodiversity and encourages collaboration.

Community Engagement:

Collaborate with parents, staff, and the local community to create meaningful learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Organize and participate in farm-based events and activities to strengthen the connection between education and the natural environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Texas Teaching Certification preferred Experience with progressive education methodologies. Strong understanding of neurodivergent inclusion practices. Enthusiasm for integrating outdoor and farm-based learning experiences.
