Our teachers lead small classes 2 days each week and create plans to guide parents on the other 3 "home days." In the innovative University School Model, teachers can focus on what they do best while partnering with engaged Christian parents who do what they do best - providing accountability, oversight, and discipleship. Grace Covenant Academy is a fully accredited K-12 school. QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
Preferred:
a valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned, or documentation of acceptance into a TEA recognized Alternative Certification Program. Required Skills Knowledge of academic subject area. Mastery of teaching theories, skills, and principles. Ability to teach, instruct, and lead students in an engaging, collaborative model. Ability to work in a team and receive coaching. Gracious and professional communication with parents Ability to maintain an active and focused classroom. Required Spiritual Commitments Committed Christian who is able to share God's work in your daily life. Committed member of a local church. Ability to connect God's truth to everyday subjects and situations. Responsibilities and duties Prepare weekly lesson plans and assessments within the GCA framework. Execute lesson plans, effectively communicate, and competently teach subject matter. Update and maintain grades and attendance in an online platform. Work with parents to foster an open, helpful, supportive partner relationship. Maintain a class environment that promotes learning, limits distractions, practices grace, and seeks to honor Jesus. Attend appropriate meetings and events. Model Christ, proclaim the Gospel, and love the students. Work with other members of the staff team to provide a well-balanced, gospel-oriented, Christian education.
