We have an opening for a teacher in our 1st and 2nd grade combined classroom for the 2026-2027 School Year. Appleseed Academy is a small private Christian school, serving children from preschool through 5th grade. We focus on developing strong personal relationships with our students and their families. Our low student-to-teacher ratio allows us to focus on the individual needs of each student.
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan a program that helps each student achieve learning objectives and curriculum goals; Prepare lesson materials and resources; Select and use instructional methods and materials appropriate to the students and learning activities; Utilize games, music, books, art, technology and other resources to teach basic skills and foster student development; Adapt standard teaching methods to meet different student needs and interests; Create a positive and appropriate classroom environment that is conducive to learning; Develop and implement a suitable classroom management system; Observe, evaluate and record children's social/emotional and academic progress; and Provide constructive feedback to parents, guardians and administration.
Education, Qualifications, and Experience:
Bachelor's degree; Texas teaching certification (EC-6) preferred, but not required; Two years of teaching experience preferred, but not required; Understanding and proficiency in relevant technology; Knowledge of current educational and instructional methodologies and techniques; and Knowledge of theories and practices of early child development.
