Description San Marcos Academy (SMA), located in San Marcos, one of the fastest growing regions in Texas, is a fully accredited private Christian school for students in PreK 3 through 12th grade, with a boarding program for students in grades 6-12. Since 1907, the Academy has provided a tradition of excellence in private Christian education, preparing young men and women for lives of leadership, service, and faith. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Valid teaching certification (Texas certification preferred) Possess basic computer skills Additional qualifications may be required for specific positions Strong understanding of upper elementary development
Compensation:
Based upon SMA payscale and commensurate with experience.
Start Date:
August 2026 Requirements Teach full day (7:25 am to 4:00 pm) Serve as a role model for students Observe policies, procedures, and directives from school administration Integrate technology into curriculum delivery Implement effective classroom and behavior management skills Keep student management system up-to-date with grades and lesson plans (Blackbaud Education Management) Manage support materials (curriculum manipulatives and technology devices) used throughout the year Work collegially with others Incorporate best practices into classroom instructional strategies Come to class/work each day with materials and plans fully prepared for the day Employ school-wide adopted curriculum as directed by the school administration Embrace school-wide initiatives for student growth and spiritual development Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction Foster students' development of critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners through intentional instruction and targeted interventions.
