An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

Third Grade Teacher Mountain Sunrise is a Waldorf-inspired kindergarten through 6th grade public charter school in Utah County. We are located on the border of Saratoga Springs and Lehi, on the banks of beautiful Utah lake, surrounded by the majestic Wasatch mountain range. We offer a whole-child education model that strives to develop the head, heart and hands of each child. We value arts-integration, experiential learning, and nature.
Classroom Teacher Responsibilities/Qualifications:
Mountain Sunrise will follow applicable USBE standards. All teachers will have a bachelor level degree at an approved higher education institution and will hold an appropriate license with areas of concentration and endorsements as approved by the USBE such as an AEL or PEL Integrate art, movement, and experiential learning while effectively teaching state standards Good communication and collaboration with all stakeholders Team player Show effective classroom management Be proficient in formative and summative assessments The teacher should have an interest in receiving professional Waldorf teacher training to develop skills and capacities, which we will help provide. We also provide onsite Waldorf trained mentor teachers! Regularly able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
Compensation:
