An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

Company Overview We are a warm, PK-8 Jewish community school dedicated to nurturing a growth mindset and cultivating joy. A caring classroom environment with high standards and hands-on learning experiences are hallmarks of Gesher JDS. We are located on a large wooded campus with a garden, hiking trails, vernal pond, and a meadow. Teachers at Gesher are expected to: Promote development of students' abilities and skills Adapt and differentiate instruction s to meet students' individual learning needs and learning styles Plan and execute activities that encourage observation, questioning, and investigation Instruct students individually and in groups Establish clear objectives for all lessons and communicates those objectives Uses a multitude of formats to assess students Incorporate a variety of materials for students to explore, manipulate, and use Communicate regularly and effectively with teaching team and parents/guardians Collaborate with teachers, specialists and administrators
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college MAT/M.Ed preferred Teaching experience required Excellent verbal and written communications skills Demonstrated leadership Organizational skills Proficiency in the use of technology Strong consideration for those trained in Responsive Classroom Provide individualized support and tutoring for students requiring additional assistance or special education services. Engage with parents through regular communication about student progress, behavior, and upcoming classroom activities. $46,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
