This position works year round Monday-Friday with a set schedule of 8am-5pm, paying $17 hourly. The ideal candidate must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency and Primrose School of Virginia Beach Standards such as/but not limited to: Bachelors Degree; early childhood certificate from a college or university; and/or extensive course work in a child related field preferred. Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency. Ability to relate positively with young children. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs in connection with handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. Negative TB screening upon first day of employment Must have a High school Diploma/GED First Aid Training, CPR, or willingness to obtain

Desired Qualifications:

College coursework/degree in Early Childhood Education or related field The responsibilities consist of: Supervision and daily classroom functions Planning and enforcing the Primrose Curriculum Provides the children with verbal praises and acceptance while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior. Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds. Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, nap time and bathroom activities. Maintains the Primrose Schools professional attire, attitude and work behavior. Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions as determined by the Leadership Team. Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
