The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and discipling students while creating a structured, engaging, and supportive classroom environment. The Upper Elementary Teacher will provide instruction in Bible, Language Arts, History, Science, and Math , integrating biblical principles and a Christian worldview throughout the curriculum. The teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership, differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs, assess student progress, and maintain effective communication with families. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction for 4th-5th grade students. Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview throughout instruction and classroom life. Create a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes learning, respect, responsibility, and independence. Use a variety of instructional strategies and assessments to support student achievement. Differentiate instruction to meet varying academic abilities and learning needs. Monitor and communicate student academic and behavioral progress. Build positive relationships with students and families. Collaborate with grade-level teachers, specialists, and school administration. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, chapel, school events, and other school activities. Serve as a positive Christian role model and contribute to a strong school community. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher required, preferably in Elementary Education or a related field. Must meet the prerequisites for certification through Gateway Christian Academy's accrediting body. Previous experience teaching 4th and/or 5th grade preferred . Strong personal faith in Christ and commitment to Christian education. Passion for discipling and mentoring students. Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and meet diverse student needs. Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, colleagues, and administration. Why Gateway?
