What they do
An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Passion for inspiring and working with elementary students
- Strong understanding of child development, growth mindset, and trauma-informed practices
- Commitment to building strong relationships, preventative classroom management, and active differentiation
- Working knowledge of research-supported best practices for early literacy instruction
- Working knowledge of Bridges MathematicsMountain View Union Elementary School District (MVU) is comprised of the towns of Hardwick, Woodbury, Greensboro, and Stannard.
Meet Our Three Campuses-Hardwick Elementary School is located in Hardwick, VT, and serves students in grades K-6
- Lakeview Early Education Center is located in Greensboro, VT, and serves as the preschool/pre-kindergarten campus for all Mountain View Union families.
- Woodbury Elementary School is located in Woodbury, VT, and serves students in grades K-6.
