Job Description

Lothrop Elementary School is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and collaborative long-term elementary teacher to fill a one year vacancy from August 2026-June 2027.
Applicants must demonstrate:
knowledge in current instructional research and exemplary practices, a student-centered focus, an integrated approach to curriculum and instruction, a willingness to be flexible and be creative regarding instruction and assessment, exemplary oral and written communication skills, effectiveness regarding rapport with students, and communication with parents and students.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities PreferredAbility to meet the basic competencies and qualifications of the endorsement(s) as listed in the Regulations Governing the Licensing of Educators and the Preparation of Educational ProfessionalsCommitment to the success of all studentsAbility to use a variety of approaches to establish a safe and caring classroom community and to provide a safe and respectful learning environment for studentsKnowledge of best practices regarding school-wide student management protocols (i.e., Responsive Classroom, Multi-Tier Support System, PBIS) Deep understanding of the need for social and emotional learningAbility to create a trauma-sensitive classroom.

Ability to integrate technology into the learning environmentAbility to communicate and collaborate with parents, community members & businessesAbility to use formative assessment to provide student feedback and to adjust lesson deliveryAbility for excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and collaboration skillsAbility to interact respectfully and collegially with colleagues as part of a collaborative teamMaintain records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
Required Qualifications:
