Position Overview The Grade 5/6 Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, Christ-centered classroom where students grow academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. This teacher will provide engaging instruction across core subject areas while intentionally integrating biblical truth and a Christian worldview into all aspects of learning. The ideal candidate is passionate about discipleship, committed to academic excellence, and skilled in working with upper elementary students. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Plan and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects (Bible, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview across the curriculum Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs Foster critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Incorporate technology and hands-on learning experiences where appropriate Spiritual Formation Model Christ-like character in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues Lead students in prayer, devotions, and biblical discussions Encourage students' personal faith development and understanding of Scripture Support the spiritual mission and culture of the school Classroom Environment Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom Promote responsibility, accountability, and kindness among students Address behavioral concerns with grace, consistency, and biblical principles Assessment & Communication Assess student learning using a variety of formative and summative methods Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents Maintain accurate records of grades and progress Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance and growth Collaboration & School Involvement Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and school initiatives Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events Contribute to school life, including chapel, field trips, retreats, and extracurricular activities Build strong partnerships with families and the broader school community Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Education or related field Valid teaching certification (current state-specific preferred) Experience teaching upper elementary or middle school preferred Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of middle school curriculum and instructional strategies Ability to integrate faith and learning in meaningful ways Effective classroom management skills Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to engage and motivate students in Grades 5/6 Spiritual Requirements A personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ Agreement with the school's statement of faith Commitment to modeling Christian character and biblical principles Work Environment Classroom-based setting with occasional outdoor and field trip activities Participation in school-wide events, including chapel and community gatherings Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with students throughout the day Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed Compensation Salary commensurate with experience and education How to Apply Please submit our application form, which you can access and email it to
