Job Description
Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate elementary teacher to join our team at Oakville Elementary. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment that encourages student growth and development. This full-time position requires a creative and enthusiastic educator who can effectively engage students in a variety of subjects while promoting a love for learning. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect. Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to provide feedback and support for student growth. Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the educational experience and implement school-wide initiatives. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and trends. Manage classroom behavior and implement effective strategies to address disciplinary issues. Organize and participate in school events, field trips, and extracurricular activities to promote community involvement. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information. Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that respects and celebrates diversity. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; valid teaching certification for elementary education. Proven experience teaching in an elementary school setting is preferred. Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
