Waldorf School Association of Seattle is hiring a Substitute Teacher (Grade 1-8) in Seattle, WA. This is a full-time position. Seattle Waldorf School is seeking an experienced, engaging, and compassionate educator to be a part of our grade school program. Job Summary:

Under minimal supervision, provides an optimal classroom experience for students in grade school classroom settings.

Specific Responsibilities:

Performs classroom teaching duties consistent with the Substitute Teaching Plan left by the regularly scheduled teacherCreates an atmosphere conducive to learning for students Grades 1 - 8Responsible for accurate reporting of student attendanceModels a culture of flexible, continuous learning for studentsConducts classroom activities that provide individual developmental experiences for studentsObserves and communicates student behaviors to class teachers in a timely mannerImplements schoolwide Integrative Student Support practices and procedures when applicable Reports all concerns to the Substitute Coordinator or Grade School DirectorEstablishes and cultivates community relations by maintaining open and candid dialogue with all of the schools constituenciesComplies and is familiar with all policies and regulations as put forth in the schools documentsTakes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities since safety andsecurity are everyones responsibilityMaintains professional relationships with all involved partiesAttends quarterly Substitute Teacher meetings and trainings, as scheduledPerforms other duties as assigned
