Job Description

Job Summary The College of Engineering solicits applications for a staff Lecturer position for Purdue University in Indianapolis, a comprehensive urban campus with tranformative growth for the state's land-grant university. The position will have primary home within the Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Program ( https://engineering.purdue.edu/VIP ) but will likely teach sections within the EPICS Program ( https://engineering.purdue.edu/EPICS ) or other courses within the College of Engineering as well. The position is a non-faculty rank, staff teaching position, with continuing appointment. Application Process Applications need to be submitted to this site and need to include (1) a complete curriculum vitae, (2) a teaching statement that includes teaching philosophy, interests, and experience, and (3) at least three names of references. Education Applicants must have a B.S. and M.S. in Engineering, Computer Science or related field. Background in Mechanical and/or Motor Sports Engineering and Ph.D. preferred. Experience Applicants should have experience in the practice or teaching of design, engineering, computing or technology. Experience mentoring project-based courses, especially those which satisfy capstone requirements, also preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered. Applicants must have the ability to take the initiative to solve problems, assume responsibility, and establish and maintain quality standards. In addition, applicants should have excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, the ability to work with people of various backgrounds, good time management and organizational skills, the ability to learn and adapt to changing learning environments, and the ability to work with students, undergraduate and graduate, and faculty in mentoring students' teams through their design projects.
