Job Description

Description The McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering at The University of Texas Austin seeks outstanding applicants for a tenured appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank, with a start date as early as Fall 2026 Candidates are sought with demonstrated excellence in research in any field of Chemical Engineering and a strong interest in teaching and mentoring students and collaborating. While the highest priority is given to the overall originality, track-record and continued promise of the candidate's work, particular areas of interest include Materials and Energy. The McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering at University of Texas at Austin is committed to building a community that is welcoming to all and to addressing the family needs of faculty, including dual-career couples and single parents. Qualifications Tenured applicants must hold a Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a related discipline. Successful candidates are expected to mentor graduate students, teach our diverse undergraduate and graduate student populations, sustain a vibrant externally sponsored research program, collaborate with other faculty from a wide range of backgrounds, and be involved in service to the university and profession. We will begin evaluation of applications immediately and will continue throughout the academic year until positions are filled. Submission of applications by November 15, 2025 is strongly encouraged. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests, a mentoring statement, and a statement of teaching philosophy and experience. For tenured positions, at least five references who will submit original letters of reference should be included. Successful candidates will be required to complete an Employment Eligibility Verification form and provide documents to verify identity and eligibility to work in the U.S. A security sensitive background check will be conducted on the applicant selected.
