Part-time Job Description Summary The budgeted salary for this position is typically $1,000 per credit hour . This position is ineligible for health, dental, and life insurance benefits through Chicago State University. Chicago State University (CSU), is the oldest public university in the Chicago metropolitan area. https://www.csu.edu/president/annual_report.htm . The English Program invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track lecturer for undergraduate courses in English. Primary duties include teaching 1 or 2 classes during the 4.5 month semester. Specific areas for which a lecturer is needed are composition, literature, and creative writing. Faculty are hired, evaluated, and retained on the basis of conditions covered in the Union Contract. Required Education A Master's degree or MFA in English or related field required hold regular office hours Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Faculty members are expected to teach, develop syllabi and teaching materials related to courses taught, and Preferred Qualifications Doctorate preferred. Degree must be from an accredited institution.
