Job Description:
American Sign Language (ASL), Adjunct Faculty Pool Adjunct positions are an "Open Pool" for the upcoming Fall 2026 semester. There may or may not be available openings at this time however, when an opening does occur, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants we have on file on an as needed basis. Adjunct Instructor positions are part-time, semester-to-semester, non-benefited
MCCC/MTA/DCE
unit positions.
SALARY RANGE
$1,397 to $1,688 per credit. Courses can run from one to four credits.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Teaches Elementary American Sign Language I in-person.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conducts classes; Prepares for instruction; Assesses student performance; Provides student assistance by appointment; and Attends a limited number of faculty meetings.
Requirements:
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in American Sign Language, or related field; Demonstrated successful experience working with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, with a range of academic abilities; Demonstrated commitment to the community college mission; and Demonstrated fluent and accurate command of American Sign Language as well as knowledge of culture and language pedagogy. If you do not meet all listed qualifications but believe your experience, education, or training provides an equivalent foundation for success in the role, we strongly encourage you to include an equivalency statement in your application. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least one year of successful experience teaching American Sign Language courses at the college level; Evidence of successful teaching experience in a community college; and Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in and outside of the classroom.
