Job Description

Discovery Learning Center (Fort Lee, NJ) is a private English language school for adult, ESL learners. If you are residing near this region and are legally authorized to work in the U.S, you now have the opportunity to apply for a part-time teaching position with us. We are seeking professional educators who are open-mined, have a passion for teaching English, and have an understanding of the communicative approach to language teaching. [1] Part-time ESL Teacher Responsibilities include: Teach English to speakers of other languages (adult ESL learners) Monitoring student performance and progress Administering written and oral exams Taking student attendance Other duties as directed
Minimum Qualifications:
has a bachelor's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL); OR has a bachelor's degree in English, linguistics, or a closely related field; and a
TESL/TEFL/TESOL
certificate; OR has a bachelor's degree in any of the majors specified in the qualification immediately above; and two years of experience teaching English in the ESL/EFL context (verification of employment required). [2] Part-time TOEFL Teacher Responsibilities include: Teach TOEFL iBT Preparation courses (eight hours per week, subject to change) Monitor students' work in the language lab and provide feedback to students on performance and grading in a timely fashion Administer the speaking and writing tests (midterm/final exams) Maintain a daily record of students' attendance Attend faculty meetings and workshops Participate in curriculum and textbook selection and review Other duties as directed
Minimum Qualifications:
B.A. in English, TESOL, or closely related field; AND Minimum of two years of direct, teaching experience; AND Demonstrate knowledge of strategic, test-taking skills for each subsection of the TOEFL i
