Job Description:
SUNY Broome Community College is seeking candidates for part-time adjunct instructors to teach primarily online composition classes in the English Department for Fall 2026. Candidates should have experience teaching first-year composition courses at the college level and be familiar with current writing theory and practice. They should have a demonstrated interest and ability in the use of alternative and innovative teaching methods and familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom. Experience with Brightspace or another learning management system is required. Applications for Adjunct Instructor positions are accepted on a continuous basis. Candidates are contacted and hired as opportunities arise, depending on the college's needs.
Requirements:
A Master's degree in English or in rhetoric or composition or in a closely related field is required. Online teaching experience is required, preferably at the community college level. Applicants should be comfortable in the learner-centered classroom and have a strong commitment to the community college mission. Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
