Job Description

Adjunct Instructor in English The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Department of Humanities seeks qualified adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses in English composition and/or American and British literature for the Fall 2026 semester.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach assigned courses in English composition and literature as assigned. Design and deliver course instruction aligned with program outcomes, accreditation standards, and institutional policies. Develop syllabi, learning activities, assessments, and instructional materials consistent with approved course descriptions. Evaluate and provide timely, constructive feedback on student work. Maintain regular communication with students and hold virtual or in-person office hours as required. Use the institution's learning management system (LMS) to manage course content, grading, and communication. Uphold academic integrity, accessibility standards, and inclusive teaching practices. Participate in required training, orientation, and assessment activities related to adjunct teaching.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
Earned Master's degree in English or related field. Experience in teaching English courses at the collegiate level.
Preferred:
Ph.D. in English or related field. Strong written and oral communication skills.

Primarily a sedentary position with online or hybrid teaching.
