English Language Learner Teacher (ELL)

Reports to: Principal and/or EL Coordinator Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide small-group and/or individualized instruction to English Learners aligned to the Alabama English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS). Develop and implement instructional activities that build English language proficiency and academic success. Collaborate with classroom and content-area teachers to support EL students' participation and progress in the general education curriculum. Maintain communication with school staff and parents/guardians regarding student progress and instructional needs. Monitor and document EL students' progress using formative and summative measures. Assist in the preparation and administration of theACCESS for ELLsassessment and other related language proficiency assessments. Support teachers with instructional strategies and accommodations for EL students. Maintain required records and documentation in compliance with federal, state and local guidelines. Participates in professional development related to English Language instruction and compliance requirements. Performs other duties as assigned by the

EL Coordinator or Principal Qualifications Required:

Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate with ESL endorsement or eligibility for certification or equivalent prior work experience. Bachelor's degree or high from an accredited college or university. Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies for English Learners.

Preferred:

Experience working with middle and high school English Learners. Familiarity with ELLevation, theACCESS for ELLsassessment and WIDA standards. Strong collaboration skills with diverse student populations and staff. Working Conditions The position is part-time and flexible in scheduling to meet the instructional and assessment needs of EL students across both schools. The role requires travel between both the Midfield Middle School and Midfield High School. There is no health, retirement, or paid leave benefits provided.

Compensation Hourly Rate:

$37.50 per hour

Maximum Annual Earnings:

$14, 000 Paid monthly based on hours worked and documented time sheets.
