Job Description

English Language Arts Teacher for
City High School Position Summary:
We are seeking a full-time English Language Arts teacher with demonstrated background and interest in curriculum development, project-based learning, and differentiated instruction. The school's approach is to integrate local resources and/or issues from our city and region into the concepts and skills students learn.
Specific functions include:
Design, plan and teach a project-based English for 2 sections of 11 grade students. Design, plan and teach a project-based English for 2 sections of 12 grade students. Collaborate and co-plan with other grade-level teachers for integrated units of instruction. Participate in professional development activities. Teach and facilitate a mixed-age advisory of 15 students
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) required Teacher certification in secondary English Language Arts preferred Teaching experience with high school students preferred Demonstrated success as a collaborative professional Strong work ethic, interpersonal skills, initiative and independence Commitment to ethnic diversity, heterogeneous grouping, and inclusion Knowledge of Arizona State Standards for

Full-time 1.0 FTE (potential of full-time position depending on availability and qualifications)
Salary:
Competitive annual teacher salary, $53,000-$59,000 per year depending on previous teaching experience
Benefits:

School-year calendar, approximately August 1-June 1 annually
