Job Description

La Jolla Country Day School is seeking qualified substitute teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year. Candidates must possess a bachelor s degree in a related field, and should have prior teaching experience. Substitutes who possess the following will be given preference: Specific expertise in areas of child development and classroom management/organization The availability to accept assignments when scheduled several days in advance, and/or sometimes at the last minute due to illness Reliable contact information and responsiveness As a substitute, there is no guarantee of a specific amount of work nor a set schedule of employment. Work will be offered only on an as-needed basis. To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will be both a leader and a learner. All school personnel must successfully complete a fingerprint background check through Live Scan and provide current tuberculosis clearance.
