The teacher will create a positive learning environment, implement rigorous lessons aligned to state standards, monitor student progress, and prepare students for academic success in high school and beyond. Essential ResponsibilitiesInstructional Responsibilities Plan and deliver daily standards-aligned ELA instruction for 8th-grade students. Teach reading comprehension, literary analysis, informational text analysis, vocabulary development, grammar, writing, and research skills. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including English Language Learners (ELLs), Exceptional Student Education (ESE) students, and gifted learners. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, technology tools, and research-based practices to maximize student engagement and achievement. Foster critical thinking through discussion, inquiry, collaborative learning, and problem-solving activities. Integrate speaking and listening opportunities into daily instruction. Provide targeted interventions and enrichment based on student performance data. Lesson Planning Responsibilities Develop weekly and daily lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum requirements. Design lessons with clear learning objectives, success criteria, and formative assessments. Incorporate diverse texts, literature, and informational resources that promote literacy and analytical thinking. Create meaningful writing assignments that develop narrative, argumentative, and informative writing skills. Utilize assessment data to adjust instruction and improve student outcomes.
