Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Elementary Foreign Language Specialist specializing in either French or Spanish to join our vibrant educational community. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive foreign language curricula tailored to elementary school students, emphasizing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Develop creative lesson plans that incorporate differentiated instruction techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, consistent with the Hillsdale Classical School Model. Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, adjusting instructional strategies accordingly to ensure continuous growth. Collaborate with fellow teachers, specialists, and administrators to align language instruction with overall curriculum goals and educational standards. Incorporate educational technology tools and learning technology resources to enhance language acquisition and engagement. Maintain accurate records of student performance data, attendance, and behavioral observations in compliance with school policies. Skills Proven experience teaching foreign languages at the elementary level with a strong understanding of childhood development principles. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage young learners, parents, and colleagues. Proficiency in curriculum development, implementation, and lesson planning tailored for early childhood education environments. Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual learning styles and special educational needs, including working with students with autism or other learning differences. Strong classroom management skills to create a positive, disciplined learning atmosphere conducive to language acquisition. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures related to language proficiency assessments and student performance data analysis. Familiarity with educational technology integration and digital tools that support literacy education and language learning. Experience mentoring colleagues or providing professional development in language instruction or classroom management strategies. Understanding of educational compliance regulations relevant to private schools and early intervention programs. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents through parent-teacher conferences and written updates on student progress.
