Director of Multilingual Learners Position Summary:
Cicero District 99 seeks to hire Spanish-English bilingual and biliterate dual language teachers. The positions will be responsible for facilitating teaching and learning in a dual language (DL) instructional model in which students learn Spanish and English in academic content areas. In addition, these positions will create dual-language classroom environments that ensure learning and skills necessary to contribute to students' language proficiency in Spanish and English, as well as academic and social growth. Classroom demographics will vary based on the program model. In a two-way DL classroom, there will be students identified as bilingual, monolingual Spanish speakers, as well as monolingual English speakers. In a one-way DL classroom, all students will be monolingual Spanish speakers, per the
WIDA MODEL
assessment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
All applicants must have a valid Illinois Professional Educator License Bilingual Education Teacher Spanish Endorsement required Language acquisition and development knowledge to scaffold, support and challenge students through rigorous curriculum Ability to create engaging lessons for English Learners with strategies to support learning Collaborative skills necessary to work with a variety of colleagues in a professional learning community A growth-mindset that includes having a positive attitude towards learning and growing professionally An innovative mentality with a focus on sound pedagogical practice through 21 st century tools See Job Description for more
