POSITION
ELA
INTERVENTIONIST
  • HCSS is seeking an ELA Interventionist to support students in strengthening their reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension skills.
The ELA Interventionist will work under the supervision of classroom teachers and school administrators to provide targeted academic support to students who need additional assistance in English Language Arts.

The ELA Interventionist will assist teachers by working with students individually and in small groups, reinforcing classroom instruction, supporting skill development, and helping students build confidence in reading and writing. This position is ideal for a candidate who enjoys working with middle and/or high school students and is passionate about helping students grow academically.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • The ideal candidate will:
  • Develop positive relationships with students.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group ELA support under teacher supervision.
  • Assist teachers in implementing ELA interventions and instructional support.
  • Help students improve reading comprehension, writing skills, vocabulary, grammar, and foundational literacy skills.
  • Support students with classwork, intervention materials, and academic practice.
  • Communicate student progress and needs to supervising teachers.
  • Use technology effectively to support student learning.
  • Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills.
Prior experience teaching, tutoring, or supporting students in English Language Arts is preferred.
