In this role, you will design and implement high-quality, standards-aligned instruction that meets the diverse needs of all learners within an inclusive environment. Guided by the district's C.O.R.E. values—Community, Opportunity, Respect, and Equity—you will foster a safe, respectful classroom culture, engage in continuous professional reflection, and collaborate with families and staff to ensure every student is prepared for success in college, career, and citizenship. Essential Functions Instructional Leadership & Writing DevelopmentCurriculum Mastery:
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for English Language Arts, teaching standards in an engaging, rigorous manner.Writing Process:
Expertly guide students through various genres of writing, specifically focusing on the drafting process to empower students to produce high-quality final pieces.Literacy Engagement:
Utilize the latest pedagogical strategies to ignite a love of literature and improve critical analytical skills across a diverse student body.Subject Matter Expertise:
Maintain a strong command of the English language, including advanced conventions, rhetoric, and composition. Data Use toInform Instruction:
Use state and school common assessment data to differentiate instruction and inform lesson planning. Collaboration & Team DynamicsCo-Teaching & Partnership:
Work with a high degree of flexibility and a collaborative spirit alongside co-teachers, grade-level teams, and departmental counterparts.Inclusive Environment:
Create a classroom space that honors diverse backgrounds and identities, ensuring equitable participation for all learners.Communication:
Build transparent relationships with families through active engagement and prompt communication regarding student progress. Professional ReliabilityConsistent Attendance:
Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance to ensure instructional continuity and the effective supervision and safety of all students.Team Participation:
Thrive within a professional learning community by contributing to departmental goals and pursuing continuous professional development. QualificationsLicensure:
Valid Massachusetts DESE License in English (5-12).SEI Endorsement:
Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement required.Experience:
1-5 years of teaching experience preferred.Skills:
Proficiency in diverse writing instruction, strong classroom management, and a proven ability to work as part of a dynamic team.Compliance:
Successful completion of a Massachusetts CORI and fingerprint-based national criminal background check.
