Essential Functions Instructional Leadership & Writing Development

Curriculum Mastery:

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for English Language Arts, teaching standards in an engaging, rigorous manner.

Writing Process:

Expertly guide students through various genres of writing, specifically focusing on the drafting process to empower students to produce high-quality final pieces.

Literacy Engagement:

Utilize the latest pedagogical strategies to ignite a love of literature and improve critical analytical skills across a diverse student body.

Subject Matter Expertise:

Maintain a strong command of the English language, including advanced conventions, rhetoric, and composition. Data Use to

Inform Instruction:

Use state and school common assessment data to differentiate instruction and inform lesson planning. Collaboration & Team Dynamics

Co-Teaching & Partnership:

Work with a high degree of flexibility and a collaborative spirit alongside co-teachers, grade-level teams, and departmental counterparts.

Create a classroom space that honors diverse backgrounds and identities, ensuring equitable participation for all learners.

Communication:

Licensure:

Valid Massachusetts DESE License in English (5-12).

SEI Endorsement:

Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement required.

Experience:

1-5 years of teaching experience preferred.

Skills:

Proficiency in diverse writing instruction, strong classroom management, and a proven ability to work as part of a dynamic team.

Compliance:

Successful completion of a Massachusetts CORI and fingerprint-based national criminal background check.
