An English or Language Arts Teacher teaches English in elementary to secondary schools. Focuses on English, writing, composition, literature, and critical analysis. In elementary school, language arts classes focus on basic reading, writing and linguistic / communication skills. In middle school, the English curriculum evolves and expands to include more complicated reading comprehension, such as fiction, poetry and essays. In teaching high school, the focus relies on developing analytical skills.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Middle School Teacher provides rigorous, subject-specific instruction for grades 6-8, fostering academic excellence and personal growth during a critical developmental stage.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate subject-area endorsement (grades 6-8), or eligibility for certification through the Michigan State Board of Education Candidates who do not yet hold a Michigan teaching certificate may qualify through enrollment in GEE's Career Advancement Program (CAP), which provides a supported pathway to Michigan certification. Must be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods. Work environment includes elevated noise levels.
