We are open to considering different scheduling arrangements in order to find the right teacher for our students. This position requires an individual(s) who are not only qualified to teach high school english but who are also passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals, stay committed to the school's Christian mission, and value an environment that promotes excellence and respect.
Responsibilities:
Teach students in a small classroom setting. Be able to instruct different age groups of children in the same class room setting. Communicate with parents about students' progress. Recognize at-risk students and refer them for additional help. Teach Language Arts from a Biblical Worldview. High School Honors courses in the following areas: English Literature, American Literature, British Literature and AP English Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English or secondary education certification Recent teaching experience with high school students; strong English Language Arts focus Proficient in student assessment, data-driven instruction, and MTSS with demonstrated classroom management Experience with curriculum planning, lesson design, and instructional technology (LMS) Ability to collaborate with colleagues, communicate with parents, and implement interventions for diverse learners Knowledge of literacy development, writing instruction, and literary analysis strategies
