  • FY 2027 Job Description CSN is seeking part-time instructors to teach English (ENG) 100-102 and Academic and Life Skills (ALS) 101 courses through the CSN Jumpstart Program at a Clark County School District (CCSD) high school.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Teach
ENG 100, ENG 101, ENG
102, and/or ALS 101 at a Clark County School District (CCSD) high school. Meet course learning outcomes established by the CSN English Department. Develop course materials using required English Department texts or Open Educational Resources (OER). Submit course syllabi to the CSN English Dual Enrollment Coordinator at the beginning of each semester. Use CANVAS to deliver course content and manage student learning. Maintain course rigor and uphold college-level academic standards. Communicate CSN deadlines and important dates to students (e.g., add/drop, withdrawal deadlines). Ensure CSN class rosters match high school rosters using MyCSN. Submit final grades by the required deadlines and process grade changes, when applicable. Communicate regularly with the CSN English Dual Enrollment Coordinator regarding course-related questions or issues. Participate in a course evaluation once per academic year. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be pre-approved by the English Department, Office of Dual Credit & Early College Programming, and Jumpstart Program before submitting an application in Workday.
ENG Courses:
Master's degree in English, Linguistics, Creative Writing, Literature, Rhetoric and Composition, Technical Writing; OR a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester credits in the teaching field.
ALS Courses:
Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Educational Psychology, Student Personnel Services, or Educational Leadership from a regionally accredited college or university. College teaching or professional experience in college success or personal development courses is required. Must have a working knowledge of CSN Student Services.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience teaching at a community college.
SALARY:
$1,000.00 per class, per semester. Courses/Credits assigned may vary by semester. Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.
