Position Purpose:

Administer

NYSESLAT

Plan and deliver instruction for ELL students in accordance with NYS mandates and standards Select, utilize and adapt appropriate second language learning strategies Develop and implement effective student behavior management plans Establish and maintain a daily schedule Complete reports for student attendance, progress and evaluation Attend school related meetings relevant to ENL program and students Consult and co-plan with classroom teachers and school administrators regarding instruction and students' needs Communicate with parents/guardians Participate in professional development and continuing education Travel to various locations as assigned to provide services

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles. Knowledge of English grammar, word usage, word denotations and connotations, spelling, writing, and mathematics. Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students. Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. Works in standard office and school building environments.

Qualifications Profile:

Knowledge of NYS Learning Standards, Common Core and ESL assessments Experience with students with disabilities preferred.

Certification:

Current New York State Certification in ESOL required.

Education:

Bachelors from an accredited college or university in discipline applicable to teaching assignment. Masters Degree preferred.

Experience:
