Grades 3-5 English Language Arts Teacher Our Lady of Victory School Our Lady of Victory School is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and enthusiastic Grades 3-5 English Language Arts Teacher to join our vibrant school community. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners and foster a lifelong love of reading, writing, and communication while creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom grounded in faith, academic excellence, and positive student development. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging, comprehensive ELA lesson plans aligned with New York State standards and school curriculum. Provide instruction in reading, writing, literacy, grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and communication skills. Create engaging learning experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, creativity, and a love of language and literacy. Use differentiated instruction, small-group instruction, station rotation, and blended-learning strategies to address diverse learning styles and individual student needs. Incorporate Google Classroom, educational technology, and other digital learning tools to enhance instruction, manage assignments, facilitate communication, and support student engagement. Integrate literacy skills with other subject areas, including opportunities for interdisciplinary and math-related learning. Conduct formative and summative assessments to evaluate student understanding and academic progress. Analyze student performance data to identify strengths and areas for growth and adjust instruction accordingly. Provide timely, meaningful feedback and targeted support to help students achieve academic goals. Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, inclusive classroom environment through effective classroom management and positive behavior strategies. Support students with special needs, autism, early intervention needs, and other learning differences by adapting instruction and providing appropriate individualized support. Maintain accurate student records and monitor progress toward academic and curriculum goals. Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and families regarding student progress, achievements, concerns, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff on curriculum development, co-teaching, student support, classroom management, and instructional best practices. Participate in school-wide activities, professional development, faculty meetings, and other school community initiatives. Support the mission, values, and faith-based educational philosophy of Our Lady of Victory School. Qualifications & Experience New York State Teaching Certification required. Proven experience teaching elementary students, particularly Grades 3-5. Strong knowledge of English Language Arts curriculum, literacy education, reading comprehension, writing instruction, and elementary instructional best practices. Demonstrated ability to develop engaging, standards-aligned curriculum and lesson plans. Experience using differentiated instruction to support students with varying academic abilities and learning styles. Experience or familiarity with station rotation, blended learning, small-group instruction, and other student-centered instructional models. Proficiency with Google Classroom and other educational technology and digital learning tools. Experience working with diverse learners, including students with autism, special education needs, or other learning differences. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures, student performance data, assessment practices, and curriculum implementation. Knowledge of child development, positive behavior management, and strategies for creating an effective elementary classroom environment. Strong communication, organizational, collaboration, and mentoring skills. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, administrators, and other members of the school community. Experience in a private school, Catholic school, or early childhood/elementary education setting is highly desirable. Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
