1.0 FTE English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher
Location:
Pathwways Technology Early College High School (PTECH), Newark, NY 14513
Salary Range:
$52,341 - $61,805, based on experience and demonstrated abilities. Benefits include paid holidays & leave time, NYS retirement, and health & dental insurance.

As soon as possible Learn more about our programs by clicking HERE Learn more about our benefits by clicking HERE Learn more about our instructional calendar by clicking HERE Learn more about our paid holidays by clicking HERE Students enter the PTECH High School program as 9th graders and work simultaneously toward earning an Advanced Regents Diploma and an A.A.S. degree from Finger Lakes Community College in Information Technology, Instrumentation and Control Technologies or Mechanical Technology, at no cost to the student's family. The 4-6-year sequence emphasizes individualized pathways to completion, mentorship, work-based experiences, in-depth project-based learning, and real-world experiences. Teachers are expected to:
  • Provide specialized instruction to students with emotional and learning disabilities.
  • Provide students with a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.
  • Record and report student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and provide resources to meet student learning needs.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of students Job Qualifications
Required:
  • Candidate must have current NYS certification in English Language Arts (ELA) 7-12.
  • Candidates should possess a broad skill set of effective teaching and learning to engage learners of all levels, including but not limited to:
  • Knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards and Assessments
  • Knowledge of curriculum content and accepted methods of instruction
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Commitment to promoting equity, practicing cultural responsiveness, and creating inclusive environments
Preferred:
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at-risk youth, nontraditional experiences and/or Special Education.
