Willows Preparatory School (Redmond WA), a growing International Baccalaureate World School, seeks qualified candidates for a dynamic and experienced Language & Literature (L&L) teacher for the 2021-22 school year and beyond. We invite motivated, innovative teachers with experience in L&L to join our growing secondary education program. Applicants should have experience teaching at the middle and/or high school level. Bellevue Children's Academy (PK-4) & Willows Preparatory School (5-12) is a private school for children in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade with an enrollment of more than 850 students. We offer an individualized and coordinated IB curriculum PK-12 with an emphasis on core academic subjects. Our students are academically advanced, working one to two grade levels ahead of state expectations. Our curriculum is set against international standards, not state standards, further preparing our children to be dynamic and well rounded thinkers and learners. Our class sizes are small and do not exceed 15 students. BCA/WPS is a member of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), a consortium of 50 high performing international schools located across the globe. Primary Responsibilities Experience leading L&L classes at the middle and high school level Experience in promoting excellence in student writing Proficiency in promoting in-depth analysis of literary works Capacity to create curriculum if needed Ability to collaborate on interdisciplinary projects Ability to effectively communicate with parents on a regular basis

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University Teacher certification and/or combination of equivalent education or experience Minimum of two years previous reaching experience Endorsement(s) in secondary subject area preferred Ability to pass a pre-employment background check Certified to work in the USA Competitive salary and benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate.
