A reasonable estimated full-time rate for this position at 100% time is $68,247 to $79,119 annually. Percent appointments may vary. Position description The Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers (part-time) for anticipated openings throughout the year including Summer Session. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the department. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and any appropriate collective bargaining agreement. Salary is based on UC's salary scales. Areas of specialization include: Cognition, Perception, and Cognitive Neuroscience, Developmental and Evolutionary Psychology, Neuroscience and Behavior or Social Psychology. The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service as appropriate to the position. The posting will remain open until March 31, 2026 to accommodate department needs. Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) The minimum requirement to be considered an applicant is a Master's degree in Psychological and Brain Sciences, Cognitive Neuroscience/psychology, Developmental and Evolutionary Psychology, Neuroscience or Behavior, and Social Psychology, or a closely related field at the time of application. Preferred qualifications
  • Previous experience in the title of Lecturer, Teaching Associate, or an equivalent title.
  • A demonstrated record of excellence and effectiveness in teaching at the university or college level as evidenced by positive teaching evaluations. Additionally, applicants should provide evidence of current expertise in the subject matter via the teaching statement and one sample syllabus.
