The Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences is currently seeking Student SICA's to join their team of professionals. Assistants are assigned to labs or classes to work with students alongside the primary instructor.

Duties to include:

Completion of a required online training course and orientation Attending weekly (or as directed) meetings with the instructor. Attending course sessions to facilitate active learning. Facilitating class projects and labs, and ensuring students complete assignments within an assigned session Holding office hours Constructing study guides, including notes and practice problems Leading study and review sessions Assisting in test proctoring Grading course assessments consistent with instructor specified rubrics and time requirements. Maintaining timely communication with the instructor Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days. Knowledge of classroom subject. Customer service knowledge Basic level of Microsoft Office Suites. Ability to work independently as needed Ability to provide direction to students. Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information. Student Assistant Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters. During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated. Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end. Up to 20 hours per week $700.00 to $5000.00 total gross per semester (paid in biweekly increments) Criminal ground Check This student appointment may be subjected to a pre-employment background check.
