Primary Purpose / Position Summary

The Graduate Student Worker in the School of Social Work will assist the Practicum Education Office with various administrative tasks, including:

Organizing online information related to Practicum Education

Maintaining Practicum Education files

Supporting other student services within the Practicum Education Office

Expectations for All Dominican Employees

To support the university's mission to pursue truth and provide compassionate service in creating a more just and humane world.

Job Components / Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with planning for Social Work events as needed

Collaborate with the Practicum Education Office to enter data from student surveys

Update agency resource information in collaboration with the Practicum Education Office

Prepare flyers or correspondence as required

Maintain, organize, and issue documents/files

Perform other duties as delegated or assigned to support Social Work activities

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Qualtrics

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work graciously with diverse groups of people

Capacity to handle multiple projects and deadlines efficiently

Initiative and ability to follow through with minimal supervision

Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters related to the position

Other Requirements:

Must be enrolled at least part-time as a graduate student in the School of Social Work at Dominican University

Availability during daytime hours

The student worker will primarily work online, with occasional on-site work as needed. When onsite, the work will mostly be in a safe, solitary environment.
