Position Information Title Half (.5) Graduate Assistant - Computer Science
Position Description The Half Graduate Assistant (.5 GA) will work 10 hours per week and receive up to 15 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 6 for fall, 6 for spring and 3 for summer. Duties
Maintaining the lab, keeping it clean, safe, and organized.
Inventorying equipment and components, recommending purchases as needed
Writing and updating the lab safety policy
Assisting faculty with the setup and takedown of teaching lab experiments
Mentoring students on electronics projects Outcomes
This position is essential for supporting the Computer Science department's particular teaching needs. Based on the listed responsibilities and preferred qualifications, a GA will get a chance to improve all the skills related to the position. It also gives a GA valuable experience that they can use on their resume. Preferred Qualifications Qualifications
Experience with electronics test equipment and circuit building.
Experience programming microcontrollers is preferred. Physical Demands Physical Demands
Able to work with electronics components.
Can lift equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
