Job Description

Encompass Experiences in Boston seeks a motivated and energetic leader with a background in STEM to join our instructional team this summer. Our program uses robotics to teach STEM principles to international students through engaging activities. This individual should be able to take initiative, possess an energetic and outgoing personality, and have a genuine interest in connecting with students from diverse global backgrounds. Curriculum and materials are provided. We are seeking individuals in a graduate program or graduated from Harvard or MIT and who are enthusiastic about expanding the horizons of our students through their teaching. Each program is two weeks long, the first from July 6-17, the second from July 20-31.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching from 15-25 international students, using robotics to illustrate STEM concepts. Serving as a positive role model for international students, fostering an interest in science and engineering. Maintaining a positive and organized classroom environment. Demonstrating a commitment to excellent student service through innovative and educational programming. Collaborating with program staff to ensure the smooth execution of the program schedule. Providing feedback to students on their understanding of STEM concepts and robotics projects. Assisting with setup and cleanup of classroom materials and equipment.
Our ideal candidate possesses:
Motivation, responsibility, and strong leadership abilities, with an interest in STEM education. Flexibility and the capacity to manage multiple tasks, including lesson planning and engaging class activities. Enthusiasm for working with international students and sharing STEM knowledge. Excellent communication skills for interacting with students and leaders. Strong organizational skills for managing activities and resources.
