Min Hourly Rate $15.05 (Standard); $14.05 (Non-Urban); $16.30 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.50 (Standard); $19.50 (Non-Urban); $22.00 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Mechanical Shop Lab Assistant for the School of Chemistry at Oregon State University (OSU). The assistant will help diagnose and repair mechanical pumps used for teaching labs in the chemistry department. In this position, students learn and build vital career-readiness skills in the primary areas below: Communication, Critical Thinking, Teamwork, and Leadership. Position Duties 90% working with teaching staff to collect and catalogue used mechanical pumps, working with storekeepers to transport the pumps to the room for diagnose and repair, delivering the repaired pumps to the labs, and disposing unrepairable pumps. 10% documenting inventory, record oue, research for appropriate parts online, and fill up ordering forms.
