Job Description Summary:

The purpose of this position is to assist in meeting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of a group of young children and model for CDEC students appropriate teaching and care-giving practices. This is accomplished by assisting in writing and implementing daily activity plans; by helping children with physical skills, self-esteem, social, cognitive, and communication skills and observing children for developmental milestones.

Minimum Qualifications:

Twelve (12) credit hours in Child Development or Early Education

• OR•a Child Development Associate ( CDA ) credential (Submission of transcripts or CDA is required).

Six (6) months teaching experience in a center-based child care setting

• OR•six (6) months of closely related teaching experience with children 0-8 years.

Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds. Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification (Documentation of current certification is required prior to first day of employment). Food Handlers Certificate (Documentation of current certification is required prior to first day of employment).

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. Special Instructions to
