Veterinary Anatomy Faculty Position Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine The Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications and nominations for a non-tenure track faculty position of Anatomy at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. We are seeking a dynamic faculty committed to advancing excellence in veterinary education, fostering a culture of innovation, and promoting academic success among our students. Furthermore, we are pursuing an innovative, creative, collaborative faculty to engage within an inspired academic community to reimagine and transform veterinary medical education aimed at creating a vibrant learning ecosystem that graduates not only career ready, but future ready veterinarians to meet the ever-evolving healthcare needs of the 21st Century and beyond. Primary responsibilities include teaching, service, and scholarly activities. Teaching and service activities include gross and clinical anatomy, histology, and embryology. Scholarly activities depend upon the goals of the individual and time assignment to scholarship. A typical time assignment is 75% teaching, 20% scholarly activities, and 5% service. Position:

Provide innovative education, mentorship, and guidance to all students in a variety of settings, including the classroom, laboratory, and simulation center in the discipline of anatomical sciences. Participate in student assessment, feedback, and remediation to ensure that students meet LCSVM's high academic standards in the areas of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Participate in curriculum development, delivery, assessment, and enhancement. Provide service to Lyon College and the greater community by serving on committees, providing leadership, participating in community outreach events, and working with professional organizations and groups. Maintain discipline and teaching expertise through continuing professional education. Engage in scholarly activity, including research, authorship, presentations at conferences, innovations, entrepreneurship, and mentorship of students in their scholarly activities.

Promote the mission of LCSVM to all faculty, staff, students, and to the local, state, national, and international communities, as appropriate. Contribute to a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration towards better outcomes and future readiness. Promote effective, collaborative, inclusive working relationships among faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders. Advance the principles of andragogy and pedagogy throughout LCSVM. Rank will be either Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor depending upon qualifications and experience.

Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the delivery of veterinary/medical education, including an understanding of the principles of andragogy and pedagogy and their application in a professional curriculum. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the area of expertise. Demonstrated record of advancing innovation and creativity in learning and scholarly pursuits. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Record of successfully contributing to collaborative teams. Excellent communications skills. Qualifications:

Required:

Terminal degree (DVM, or equivalent, or MD, and/or PhD)

Preferred:

Prior experience teaching within a veterinary or medical school. Demonstrated leadership experience in educational and/or professional settings. Demonstrated scholarly activities in education, innovations, entrepreneurship, and/or medical research. This position will be based at the new Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine in Cabot, Arkansas. The LCSVM is co-located with Cabot Animal Support Services (CASS). CASS is a local, state, and national model for shelter medicine, animal welfare, community relations, and education.
