Mission, Vision, and Core Values Department of Clinical Science The mission of the Clinical Science programs is to provide high quality education and professional preparation in cytotechnology and medical technology for a diverse student population, to prepare them for traditional and emerging roles as clinical science professionals. The goals of each of the programs, in addition to preparing entry-level clinical practitioners are to: Produce clinical scientists who can research, develop, evaluate, and implement clinical skills and procedures utilizing a high degree of independent judgment and applied cognitive knowledge; consult, where appropriate, with other members of the health care team; and instill within graduates a sense of professionalism, dedication, and commitment to healthcare and their profession that will stay with them throughout their careers.For more information:
https://www.csudh.edu/clinical-science/ The Position The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching at short notice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends in mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available. Responsibilities Teach assigned upper division courses in the department's curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load. Qualifications Required Minimum Qualifications A master's degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline or bachelor's degree with minimum 5-year clinical laboratory experience. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. Applicants must have experience in teaching undergraduates from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Clinical experience in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline. A Ph.D. or extensive professional experience is required for teaching upper-division core courses (300- or 400-level).
