Job Description

UCSF Fresno & Inspire Health - Infectious Disease Faculty Position UCSF Fresno Regional Campus and the Central California Faculty Medical Group (CCFMG), dba Inspire Health, are recruiting qualified physicians to join our Infectious Disease (ID) medical education and research program at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in ID, possess excellent clinical skills, demonstrate a strong commitment to medical education, and show interest in clinical research. Training or experience in Infection Control (IC) and HIV management is preferred. Responsibilities include providing consultations in both inpatient and ambulatory settings, across teaching and non-teaching services. The successful candidate will also participate in robust and rapidly expanding IC programs. UCSF Fresno practice sites include a large regional medical center, Ryan White grant-funded HIV clinics, the VA Central California Health Care System, and faculty practice clinics. Salary and faculty appointment at UCSF Fresno will be commensurate with experience. We have offered a successful ID Fellowship since 2008, accepting two fellows each year. The diversity of pathology and complexity of care in infectious diseases makes UCSF Fresno an ideal setting for faculty to educate trainees across multiple disciplines, including Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Psychiatry, and OB/Gynecology residents, as well as medical students. UCSF Fresno hosts an impressive Infectious Diseases clinic network within a large safety-net system that serves our communities. This includes an outstanding HIV program, which provides care to over 1,000 patients and involves faculty, residents, and fellows. Additionally, we have a state-of-the-art microbiology laboratory, with most diagnostics performed in-house and locally. We also collaborate closely with Clinical ID Pharmacists in Antimicrobial Stewardship (AS). The program is based in Fresno, California, a region offering a high standard of living with a lower-cost real estate market. Fresno is uniquely positioned near three national parks, including the renowned Yosemite National Park, as well as the Pacific Ocean and major California cities. For positions exclusively funded by the affiliate organization: Inspire Health provided a reasonable salary estimate for this position of $225,000 to $300,000.
