Position description The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery ( http://ortho.ucsd.edu/ ) within the University of California San Diego School of Medicine Atkinson Physician Assistant Education Program is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff and student body and invites applications for a 12-month, full-time position to serve as founding principal faculty. Responsibilities include teaching, evaluating, and advising didactic and clinical year physician assistant students. This position includes a clinical release day to provide clinical care in the USCD Medical Center system. Participation in scholarly activity, professional activity, and research is mutually agreed upon with the program director. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required. The appropriate rank and appointment will be based on the candidate's background and experience. • Current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
